The Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and Co-ordination of National Government on Thursday appointed celebrated comedian Vincent Mwasia also known by his stage name Chipukeezy as a board member at the National Campaign against Drug Abuse (NACADA).
Chipukeezy’s appointment was made public through a Kenya gazzete notice indicating that the comedian will serve the board for up to three years.
He replaces singer and Starehe member of parliament Charles Njagua Kanyi (Jaguar) who had bee serving at the same board since 2014.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse Act, the Cabinet Secretary, Interior and Co-ordination of National Government appoints Vincent Mwasia Mutua and George Ogalo to be members of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 6th June, 2018,” reads the gazette notice dated the 5th June, 2018” the Gazette Notice reads in part.
