Wahu Kagwi has released a new gospel single titled ‘My Everything’. The song points to God as the source of all blessings and brings to light how depending on Him solely is important.
My Everything is inspired by the true story of a family whose happiness is threatened when the father is suddenly taken ill.
He is hospitalised and appears to be stuck in a comma. The wife is forced to step in and be strong for their two daughters as well as the ailing husband. She is at her point of desperation but through endless prayer, God answers and her husband regains consciousness, paving way for a steady recovery.
Wahu’s striking vocals spice up the song, which was artistically written in collaboration with the Lingala ya Yesu hit maker, Pitson.
The transition from secular to gospel seems to have brought out a better version of her musical performances. The lyrics of the song are deep and inspirational. Coupled with the music video, by Trued Productions, that shows the tribulations the family went through, this is an emotional and soul uplifting song with the gospel message at its core.
This becomes her second gospel song after releasing Sifa in November last year. Wahu is married to David Mathenge, popularly known as Nameless and they have been blessed with two daughters, Tumiso and Nyakio.
